How do you support children with pastoral, social, emotional or medical needs?

Pastoral, Social and Emotional Support

At St Hild's we take great care to ensure that the pastoral, social and emotional needs of all children are fully met. All of our staff have received training from the Local Authority and we have a number of systems in place to ensure that we are able to support children who may experience difficulties in these areas.

Our Positive Futures Worker is also available to support children who may experience pastoral, social or emotional difficulties and she works alongside classroom based staff to ensure the needs of these children are met.

Medical Support

All of our staff hold current first aid certificates (January 2016).

In addition, we have designated first aiders with additional qualifications across the school: Mrs L Abbott, Mrs C White, Mrs J White, Mr D Straughan

Paediatric First Aid: Miss N Reed, Miss C Forster, Mrs M Hann, Mrs C White, Mrs L Abbott

All staff have been trained to use a defibrillator.

Children with additional medical needs are well supported in school. Mrs L Abbott, Mrs C White, Mrs J Roddam and Mrs J White are trained in administering medication and as a school, we work closely with the School Nurse and other medical professionals to ensure that we can support your child's medical needs fully, for example administering asthma medication, insulin, epi-pens and being aware of the symptoms of other medical conditions.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to discuss your child's needs further.
