We ended the year with another fantastic Pop UK concert

During the Durham Brass Festival, Les Bomb'Zatomik came into school to perform for us

We held our annual music concert - well done to all of our talented musicians

Career's Fair July 2016

We had a Career's Fair afternoon to give children opportunities to talk to people from the world of work. Children and their families were able to find out what it is like to work in the fire service, be a nurse, a hairdresser, a prison officer, a website designer, an engineer, a lecturer, work in retail or be a vet. A fun and informative afternoon was had by all. Thank you to every one who came in.

Year 1 and Year 2 took part in the Mini Olympics at Durham Sixth Form Centre

Year 1 and Year 2 visited Rainton Meadows. We had a great day!

PC Claire came back into school to present us with a certificate for raising a brilliant £379.50 for Paws Up. She brought Police Dog Lottie with her. Lottie and her handler have been on TV!

PC Claire brought Jet and Ben into school. She talked to us about Stranger Danger.

We completed an obstacle course to raise money for the Paws Up charity

We all took part in the Big First Aid lesson again this year

This term we have launched Spellodrome and Mathletics. Well done to everyone who has earned an award so far.

The Queens 90th Birthday. Picnic street party lunch (inside because of the weather) fun afternoon and traditional games, we had a great time celebrating the Queens birthday!

We looked at the work of Georgia O'Keeffe in Take One Picture Week this year. Look at our beautiful artwork

Everyone in KS1 and KS2 took part in the Quad Kids competition. We all worked as sports leaders too and helped the younger children.

Our Pentecost Eucharist

Taylor Shaw came in to talk to everyone about hand washing. We used the UV light to see the germs on our hands.

Adam Bushnell came into school to work with KS1 and KS2 to develop our creative writing. It was a brilliant day!

Meet our new Mini Bud Team

M&M Theatrical Productions came into school to perform Peter Pan. It was brilliant!

We had a visit from the Durham County Council Community Team. They brought their pet Scoop in to tell us about dog mess in our local area.

Year 2 visited Belmont War Memorial to find out about people from our community who have died in wars

We found out more about the importance of Remembrance Day and decorated our poppies. We wrote personal messages for our Remembrance Wall.

The Fire Brigade came into school to talk to us about bonfires and firework safety.

Mrs Hann presented our certificates in Celebration Assembly. Well done to our stars of this half term!

At the start of Celebration Assembly, we shared our work on Guy Fawkes and the plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament.

Key Stage One had a debate about graffiti.

We found out what happens in Parliament.
Each class prepared their argument.
We did some online research.
Then we went into the hall for our debate.
Each team had a spokesperson.
We asked questions.
Then we held a vote on the issue.
We created our own graffiti artwork.

Year 2 and Year 4 found out about Nigerian clothes, food and dance with Precious and Divine's Mum.

Harvey's Mum made some traditional African food with Reception and Nursery.

Bobby's Dad told Year 4 about life in Nigeria. He shared some snacks with Year 2.

Hisham and Bassam told Year 3 about Islam

Year 1 found out about Jewish Sukkots

Year 5 and 6 had a visit from a Prison Officer from the "Prison, me? No way!" scheme. He told us about life in prison.

We elected our new school council for 2015-16

Candidates from each class gave a speech.
Everyone in school cast their vote.
The votes were counted.
Our new school councillors were announced.

Harvest Festival 2015

Our theme this year was "colour"
Reception shared a colourful dance
Year 1 performed their Harvest Samba
Year 2 thought about red, orange and yellow
Year 3 told us about the Harvest Rainbow
Year 4 told us about the rain
Year 5 told us about the colour green
Year 6 wrote some thoughtful prayers

Year 6 welcomed a visitor from the Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is of Durham

We thought about our school rules at the start of the school year and each class thought about rewards and consequences

We dressed in Red White and Blue on 9th of September to celebrate the Queens longest Reign. We had a royal lunch to celebrate!
