Year 5

Welcome to Year 5

It is hard to believe that we are already into our final term of the year - it feels like it has zoomed by! But don't worry; we still have plenty of fun activities to enjoy before the Summer term ends.

This term, our class topic is 'Rivers' and we will be finding out all about the different parts of a river, how they were formed, and how they have impacted life throughout history. Our English book for this term - The Last Bear - explores how we can all make a difference to the planet by doing our bit to combat global warming.

Our PE lessons this half term will be on a Thursday afternoon so please make sure to come to school wearing your kit on this day. Also, keep an eye on Dojo because there are plenty of events planned in this term which will require a PE kit!

Homework will be sent home every Friday and should be returned to school by the following Wednesday. Remember to access our online learning programmes at home as often as you can too. See if you can get to the top of the leader board.

As always, if you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us.

As part of our European Day of Languages celebrations, we made a Spanish 'Tres Leches Cake' - it was delicious!

We had a lot of fun solving problems, discussing riddles and hunting around school for clues on Maths Day!

We've enjoyed playing with a range of equipment on the playground at breaktime:

Electricity was our science topic during the first half term. Figuring out how to set up circuits to achieve different things was a real challenge!
