Our Vision and Values

St Hild’s School Vision

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Matt 5:16

At St Hild’s we let the light of Jesus shine through all we do. St Hild shone like a bright jewel. We follow her example, not hiding our light, but letting our unique gifts shine brightly. We are an inclusive, loving community, where everyone is valued and nurtured to grow and fulfil their God-given potential.

The values we have decided on as a school are:

Community

Thankfulness

Forgiveness

Justice

Courage

Love

Collective Worship at St Hild's

Our Children's Collective Worship Committee meets regularly to promote and develop our Christian Values across school. We help to plan and deliver Collective Worship.

In July 2022, our CW group evaluated the thoughts of our children about Collective Worship in school and presented these to Governors, you can read them below.

What is our Collective Worship?

Time to show our passions, how we are inspired by others (Reverend Wynd used to come in and tell us stories. He used to shout and say it enthusiastically.)

A way to gather together as a school!

A time to respect each other and their opinions.

Our time to learn and apply our values.

A time to worship God and learn more about it.

Why is it important?

Sometimes you need a chance to reflect.

It’s a time to come together and share our feelings.

Every Friday, we celebrate what each class has achieved.

It can help us inside and outside of school as the values we learn about can help us make the right decisions.

A calm time so we can learn about Jesus.

Because we can think about other people.

What makes it special?

Because we can pray and have our own time.

There are lots of different way to worship.

People used to come in and share their values so we can learn from their experiences and their lives.

We come together to respect each other.

It gives us time to pray.

It gives us a chance to be thankful.

How does it make me feel?

Happy because we are surrounded by our friends and our whole school community.

Comforted- if I am going through something someone else might be and I can learn them.

Glad because I am surrounded by my friends I am part of such a special school.

It’s a nice feeling being surrounded by my friends and teachers and I can tell that they care about me.

Can Collective Worship help me in my life?

When Mrs Ryder is talking, I can relate to what she is saying.

The theme for worship can apply on the playground or at home.

The stories are about things I can understand so I can think about things like that in my life.

I might feel stressed but sitting down quietly can help me calm down.

The stories can apply to problems I have sometimes in my life.

It encourages people to do the right thing.

The values that are used and examples of behaviour are shared.

It’s a fun time because sometime they choose people to act it out.

It’s a nice way to end the day and I go home feeling happy.
