Class 5

Welcome to Class 5

I hope you all had a lovely break over Easter and are feeling rested and ready to go for our final term of the year.

This term, our class topic is Crime and Punishment. We will be finding out about how laws have changed over time and how these laws were enforced - some of the punishments seem very unusual nowadays!

Our PE day is Thursday during this first half term so please remember to come to school in your kit on this day. We also have forest school to look forward to during this half term and I will post the dates for this on Dojo each week.

If you have any questions or anything you would like to discuss, please get in touch.

We have already tried a wide variety of sports in the sunshine this term!

Orienteering was something that most of us had never tried before. We had a lot of fun learning how to use a compass, how to orientate a map, and how to plan an effective route:

We loved learning and writing about bees and finished off the unit by using honey to bake some delicious treats :)

We had a session with the Worry Wizard and it was great to reinforce the message that: 'We all have worries - you're not alone'

We learnt a lot about care and conservation through our forest school sessions. We also had a lot of fun exploring and learning new skills!

Our Easter bonnets and cards look fantastic!

We thought carefully about which materials would help insulate our icy friends the best. Thankfully, we saved them all and sent them back to their home planet!

We all thought about what makes us unique and special. It was lovely to be able to write down so many positive things about ourselves :)

Look at our Christmas crafts!

Our Santa Fun Run with the SSP was a lot of fun - it even snowed (sort of!)

Enjoying the snow at home...

Our Christingle service was lovely :)

We thought carefully about what Remembrance Day means to us all and made these cards to commemorate the occasion:

We really enjoyed making our own paper Solar Systems - they look great too!

We went outside for maths and explored the commutativity of multiplication questions.

Look at the drawings we did with Liz Million!

Testing our pace on the speed bike was very exciting and also very tiring!

We enjoyed getting a chance to design and perform our own role plays on the stage!

We headed outside to act out how the Earth and moon both orbit the Sun.

We enjoyed our TriGolf session with the SSP!
