School Closure Information

Hello Class 4,

I hope you have all had a lovely and relaxing half-term break. Unfortunately, school is still closed. However, I can’t wait to see all of your hard work on Class Dojo and I am sure you will all continue to shine bright through these strange and difficult times.

Spring Term 2b Home Learning Booklets

Dazzling in Durham - Autumn Term Topic

Our topic this term is called 'Dazzling in Durham' where we will be learning about local artists, how the area has changed over time as well as the geography of the area.

Easter Crafts
Christmas Draw-a-long with Liz Million
Santa Fun Run with the SSP 🎄🎅🏻⛄️
Proggy Mats

As part of our Dazzling in Durham topic, we made proggy mats for our DT project.

Made from old sacks and recycled fabric including old clothes and sheets, proggy mats were an economical option to keep feet warm in an era before fitted carpets.

Making our very own Disgestive System

We had a great afternoon in Science today. We experimented the functions of different parts of the digestive system by making our very own! It was very gross but we thoroughly enjoyed it!
Roald Dahl Day
In celebration of Roald Dahl day on Friday, Mr Willy Wonka asked us to invent a new Wonka Bar creation. To help inspire our taste buds and imagination, we smelled and tasted different sweet treats. We then wrote some delicious descriptions of our new Wonka Bar creations to Mr Willy Wonka.
Rosh Hashanah
This week, we learnt about the Jewish New Year festival Rosh Hashanah.

We discussed how we usually celebrate New Year by spending time with our loved ones, taking part in family traditions and making New Year’s Resolutions.

After that, we tried traditional sweet foods that Jewish people eat during Rosh Hashanah including pomegranate, Challah bread, grapes, honey cake and apples dipped in honey.

We then listened to the sound of a Shofar being played as if we were in a synagogue.
