Positive Futures Worker

Hello, my name is Siobhan Reilly, Positive Futures Worker here at St Hilds.

My role in school is to provide help and support to families covering a range of issues, for example:-

WORKING WITH FAMILIES

  • Advice and support with your child’s behaviour at home.

  • Support with issues around attendance and school refusal

  • Identifying and overcoming barriers to learning to help you support your children’s learning.

  • Support for families through times of significant change in family life.

  • Signposting to local agencies and services.

  • Advice and signposting to support services for children with special educational needs or disability

  • Opportunities to meet other parents through family learning groups.

ATTENDANCE

I am responsible for overseeing and improving school attendance.

I believe in school working collaboratively with families to ensure that issues around attendance can be addressed and resolved to achieve the best outcomes for your children.

Low attendance is sometimes the casualty of other difficulties which families may be experiencing and by working together we can often find a way to overcome most issues. Therefore, if you are experiencing difficulties please contact me in school and we can meet for a chat.

SAFEGUARDING

I am a member of the school safeguarding team and again I believe in working collaboratively with parents on all issues especially ones of a safeguarding nature.

I am passionate about our young people getting the most out of education. By building their resilience and confidence at home and in school they learn that possibilities and opportunities are endless!

I am in school Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday each week. You are welcome to come in to see me with any issues/concerns you may have or to share ideas of how we can improve what we are already doing.

Kind regards,

Siobhán
