School Council 2023 - 2024

Welcome to our school council page!

School Council 2022 - 2023

We had a wonderful visit from Jim O'Connor, founder of the Dorothy's Wells charity, who came in to talk to all of the children about his work building wells in Tanzania and the difference it has made to everyone's lives there. He then attended our School Council meeting to answer the children's questions about this amazing project.

The councillors wrote to businesses asking for donations towards our Christmas raffle.

School Council Elections - the candidates in each class gave their speeches then their peers cast their votes

Class Council Elections

The candidates in each class made a speech explaining why they wanted to be a School Councillor and putting forward their ideas for improving our school, before each child voted for 2 of the candidates to become this year's School Council.

Our School Council was elected in the Autumn term. The children were all very excited and keen to elect the right people for the job. We chose two children from each class from Year One to Year Six. Our School  Council meets once every half term after school.

Meet the Council

smiley

In June, we had a lovely visit from Tidy Ted and the Civic Pride team at Durham County Council.
The children listened really well and shared super answers about the problems caused by dropping litter.
Then, members of School Council and Eco Council went around the school grounds, picking up all of the litter they could find. They were all very sensible and enthusiastic.
Well done everyone 😊
